A lot of people book their first lift bay with a mix of excitement and low-key nerves. That's normal. A 10,000-pound 2-post lift looks serious because it is serious — but it's also not complicated, and you're not doing it alone.
This post walks you through the whole experience so you show up knowing what to expect. Whether you've been wrenching for years or this is your first oil change, the process is the same.
What We Have at OGC10
Before we get into the walkthrough, here's what you're actually working with when you rent a lift bay at OGC10:
We also have two flat bays at ground level — no lift — which work well for detailing, wheel and tire swaps, interior work, and motorcycles. If you're not sure which bay fits your job, just ask when you book.
Step-by-Step: Your First Lift Bay Visit
Pull into OGC10 off Private Road 5990 (just off US-75 in Anna). Walk in, tell us your name, and we'll pull up your booking. The whole check-in takes about two minutes. We'll confirm what you're working on and get you set up with any tools you need from the start.
Once you pull into the bay, our staff takes it from there. We position the lift arms under the correct lift points for your specific vehicle — every make and model is different, and getting this right matters. You don't need to know where your lift points are. That's our job. We handle all lift setup before any work begins.
Our staff operates the lift — start to finish. We raise it a few inches, do a quick stability check to confirm the contact points are solid, then bring it up to your working height. All lift operation at OGC10 is handled by staff only. You get the access, we handle the equipment.
Good to know: OGC10 staff operates all lift equipment — customers never touch the lift controls. This means you don't need any lift experience to book a bay. Show up, do your work, and let us handle the equipment.
This part is yours. Oil change, brakes, suspension, whatever you came to do — you've got the bay, the lift, and the tools. Staff is on-site the whole time. If you have a question, hit a snag, or need a tool you don't see, just ask. Nobody here is going to make you feel dumb for asking. That's kind of the whole point of OGC10.
When you're done, let staff know and we'll handle bringing the lift back down. We do a quick check to make sure nothing is left under the vehicle — tools, drain pans, rags — before lowering. Once it's at ground level, the arms come out and you drive straight out. Clean up the bay, and you're done.
Things People Worry About (And Shouldn't)
No. Staff handles all vehicle positioning and lift arm placement. We know the correct lift points for your make and model. Just pull into the bay and we take it from there.
Our staff handles all lift operation — raising, lowering, and securing the vehicle. Customers never operate the lift controls. Before anyone goes under a vehicle, staff confirms the lift is stable and properly set. Our Atlas lifts also lock mechanically at each height position, independent of hydraulic pressure. You focus on the work. We handle the equipment.
Watch a video before you come in — YouTube has walkthroughs for basically every job on every vehicle. Come with your supplies and a rough plan. Staff can answer questions but we're not doing the work for you. That's what makes it a DIY bay.
Lift bays are booked by the hour at $50/hour. We also offer 6-hour and 12-hour packages if you're tackling a bigger job. Bay hours run 8AM–8PM daily.
Check in with staff before your time runs out. If the bay is open, we can extend. If we can't extend that same bay, we may be able to move you. The worst thing you can do is say nothing and run over — just ask early.
The Short Version
You show up, we help you position the car, the lift goes up, you do the work, the lift comes down, you drive out. Staff is on-site the whole time. The equipment is professional grade and maintained regularly. You don't have to be an expert to use it — you just have to be willing to learn.
OGC10 exists because too many people have nowhere to work on their own vehicles. HOA restrictions, apartment parking lots, driveways that don't cut it. We built this for the person who wants to wrench but just needs the space to do it right. Serving customers from McKinney, Celina, Prosper, Melissa, and all across North Dallas — we're right off US-75 in Anna, TX and open seven days a week.
If this is your first time, just book a bay and show up. We'll take it from there.
